Aiken

Aiken is an idyllic city with a population of around 30,000 that lies close to the Georgia-South Carolina state border next to the Savannah River. Aiken is well-known for its beautiful public garden spaces and being a hotspot for equine sports like polo with thoroughbred horses.

You should be pleased to learn that Aiken is an excellent choice in terms of the affordability of the housing there. Buying a vacation pad in a smaller place like Aiken will cost you significantly less money than getting somewhere in a larger urban area of South Carolina, such as Charleston. Find more information here from EZ Home Search about the latest places for sale in Aiken to see what’s on offer and why you should move there.

Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach on the Atlantic Coast is a city home to 60 miles of gorgeous sandy beaches. It’s a place that the kids will enjoy going to on vacation since its boardwalk is full of fun activities for them to do throughout the day, such as arcades, rides, delicious food outlets, and much more. Does your family enjoy the thrills and spills of taking part in exhilarating water sports that get your adrenaline pumping, such as surfing, bodyboarding, sailing, or windsurfing? In that case, buying a vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC, will be ideal for you guys and your vacation needs.

Greenville, South Carolina

Greenville

Greenville is a cozy city located on the north-western side of SC. The downtown area has the Peace Center performing arts center, and the city’s also home to the Greenville County Museum of Art, featuring works from Southern artists across several centuries. The city is a wonderful place to live for cultural enthusiasts who derive great pleasure from seeing theater shows, live concerts, and breathtaking historic pieces of art in the flesh. It may not be too close to the beach, but Greenville is undoubtedly an interesting city where your family can enjoy interesting days exploring the place.

The small city is conveniently located and only a 2-hour car journey away from Atlanta, GA, a brilliant place renowned internationally for its thriving music scene. In 2022, Atlanta is mainly known for its contribution to the R&B and hip-hop music scenes. However, historically it has had close ties with gospel, country, and blues music.

Orangeburg South Carolina

Orangeburg

Orangeburg, SC (also fondly known as ‘the garden city’) is situated in the county seat of Orangeburg. It’s a small city that is home to around 13,000 residents. Orangeburg played a significant role in the civil rights movements in the 1960s, a great part of which was due to the input from politically active students attending marches and demonstrations from Claflin College and South Carolina State College.

If you are interested in finding out a lot more about the civil rights movement, head on down to the Cecil Williams South Carolina Civil Rights Museum in Orangeburg. Despite its turbulent past, the city is still a nice place to have a second family home in 2022. Sometimes you will find that the smaller, quaint places are the most endearing.

This antebellum architectural style is typical for the Deep South.

Buying a family vacation home in Beaufort, you will be right on the Atlantic coast, and thus there will be lots of fun water-related activities you and your kids can make the most of locally. If your family are big fans of eating seafood, you will be excited to hear there is a broad selection of top-quality seafood restaurants in the Beaufort area that will only have come from a few yards away from where you are sitting.
