From kindergarten to teeny themes, there are a number of options available nowadays as far as painting your kids? room is concerned. Choosing paint colours for your kid?s bedroom can be puzzling yet exciting. Especially with the kind of variety, colours, and shades available. Grown-ups are more likely to provide some inputs on the kind of room they?d like to live in, however, it can get a little mind boggling with relatively younger ones. As parents, you must be aware how quickly kids change their likes, dislikes, and preferences. To solve the confusion, here?s a quick guide on how creatively you can create a colourful kids? room.

Define Functionality

For starters, you first need to figure out the functionality of your room. A room that is useful for both your kids and you will be the most effective. Start by finding out what activities will be taking place there is it purely for study, or for play and sleep. This will help you decide whether the colours in your kids’ room are fun, playful, and conducive to study and sleep.

Be Creative

Your kid?s room is a fantastic place to bring out some creativity and try a little bit of experiment. Ask your children what they would like. You might get some really bizarre answers like.. ?I want cars, with blue and brown colours? or ?I want glowing stars and sun on the walls that glimmer in the dark?. Your little girl would want some fairies, pink ponies, yellow sunflowers, brownies, hearts, or her favorite cartoon characters. Keep all of them in mind and blend these creative ideas well to come up with something feasible.

Draw Inspiration

If you?re falling short of ideas, look for some home d?cor magazines for visual ideas and pick inspiration or find some on the web. Painting the kids? room is no more a blue for boys and pink for girls thing. When it?s about painting your children?s room, you need to think differently. A playful orange, purple, yellow, or shades of red can make the room look all the more stunning. It?s a great way to pump in some life into the room without being too outlandish. Stick to Neutrals

A neutral colour can be the perfect choice for your kids? bedroom walls. Especially if you have a boy and girl sharing the room, neutrals are far more effective. Your son wouldn?t prefer pink walls nor would your daughter be as happy with a blue room. Neutral colours on the bedroom walls will give you more options for trying out other kids? room d?cor options.

Use Darker Colours to Minimum

Be careful with the usage of darker colours. They may give the room a gloomy and dull look. If your kid loves darker shades such as purple, midnight blue, or black, you can simply paint one wall with that color and the other walls with a lighter shade. You need to remember that darker colours can make a room appear smaller while lighter colours can make the room look more spacious. Well, it is really a matter of preference.
