HVAC and its Benefits in this Time of Pandemic

As we fight the COVID -19 pandemic, more and more countries are asking their citizens to stay home. In the US, some states are already on lockdown while others adopt ?shelter-in-place? policies. In all places, the message is clear – stay home unless you need to do something essential outdoors. That leaves many people  in homes, trying to keep the infection at bay.

Few people consider that they can be just as vulnerable to the fast-spreading viral infection indoors as they would be outside, especially if an infected person is in the vicinity.

When the microbes of a virus are in the home, they can spread easily through the air from person to person. That’s because the people in the home are sharing the same air. It is, therefore, important to have a free flow of clean air in the house. That’s where a good HVAC system comes in.

What does a HVAC system do?

The HVAC system is the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system that controls the atmosphere in your home. When it’s hot, it keeps things cool, and when it’s cold, it keeps the place warm. It’s also responsible for keeping the air in the home clean by filtering out dust particles and harmful microbes from the air circulating within the house.

Since the HVAC system purifies the air in the home, it can be a useful weapon in fighting viral infections, allergies, and conditions like Asthma. If the house has a smoker, the air purifying system can also get rid of the tobacco smoke.

Unpleasant kitchen odors can also be neutralized by the house air purification system. And of course, all the pet hair and dust mites that could cause allergies or illness are also swept away. In this way, an efficient HVAC system is essential to the purification of the air in your home and should always be well-maintained.

The benefits of HVAC in the fight against COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken over the world, with everyone frantically trying to stay away from the virus. The way it spreads from person to person, means people have to practice isolation and social distancing to reduce the chances of getting infected.

Keeping people isolated or quarantined slows down the rate of COVID -19 infections because it spreads when sick people cough or sneeze and spread the viral droplets to others. Touching surfaces on which the viral droplets have settled and then touching our eyes, mouths, or noses can also result in infection.

When you are close to each other, a good air purification system can suck out harmful viral particles and keep you and others from getting ill, making HVAC systems in the home, public buildings, restaurants, and other places we frequent, an effective weapon to use when fighting a pandemic. That, in addition to sanitizing everything around us, can help us keep the chances of infection at a minimum.

Is your HVAC system working properly?

As you can see, although people take the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in their homes, offices and other premises for granted, they play a considerable role in warding off infections.?

If your ventilation system is not working well, you should get it looked at by a heating and air conditioning New Jersey expert. You can also get valuable tips on how to cut down your cooling and heating costs. If you haven’t had the air filters cleaned for a while, they will take care of that for you too.
